Driving instead of flying

A roadtrip is an American classic, and is especially rewarding if you live on the west coast or in Appalachia (imo the prettiest parts of the US). There are so many freaky little things waiting to be discovered off the highway or on side streets (an Amish bakery? A giant pink dinosaur you can climb into? A diner that’s been around since the 1940s?). Even a two hour drive can lead to adventure.
