I bought a 1907 fixer upper with the knowledge there would be Stuff to Do. Second Use has provided, among other things:
marble subway tile I tiled my kitchen with, half the Fireclay tile I tiled my bathroom with, the coolest vintage bathroom sink, wood doors from an old monastery I made into sliding doors for my bed and bathroom, bougie hardware for those doors, bougie drawer slides, teredo fir I used to make a fence, an F.Fabbian flush-mount I put up in my kitchen, and spalted maple for half my mantel (the other half is a black walnut slab a friend carried around for decades before he gave it to me).
My house is real nice, thanks to a diy-can-do attitude and the magic of Second Use.
